When I look at the letters behind my name, it looks a bit like alphabet soup. RN (np) means that I am a Registered Nurse. I am also a Psychiatric Nurse. I worked mostly on psychiatric wards because my fascination to understand how the mind works trumped all other aspects of nursing. RPC means Registered Professional Counsellor. I have been counselling in private practice for 20 years. MPCC-Supervisor Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling - Supervisor, this designation denotes that I am a “counsellor of counsellors” -- competent to teach and mentor others in the field.
My area of specialization is trauma and its long-term effects in both the body and interpersonal relationships. In my work, I focus on the “inter-relatedness” of physical, emotional and interpersonal challenges with the goal of assisting my clients to take charge of their own healing process and move forward in their life. I come to you as both a ‘wounded healer’ and a skilled educator and therapist. I look forward to meeting you.
